Barrels of Margate: Authentic Italian Dining in the Heart of Margate City

I really enjoyed one of the specials (California Chicken) offered during my last visit, but it wasn’t on the menu this time. Even though they were busy, the waitress checked with the kitchen to see if they could prepare it and they agreed. It was delicious and appreciated!

Tasty Italian food offerings. Portions are robust and satisfying. Great friendly service from a caring staff. A definite winner!

Hello, Hello... You're missing out. If you are like me, you may have been driving past this place for years. I will be putting Barrels on my " Must eats list" when in Margate. I hope you feel the same. Very large portion, fresh salads, great appetizers. BYOB, no corking fee. The place is small and very clean. You must try this place, and please let me know what you think. We love ordering from Barrels. If you go there during the off-season, there is plenty of room to sit with zero noise. It's a great spot for dinner or apps with friends. The food is consistently delicious and the portions quite large. I have to give a shoutout to Sierra & Samantha. I have seen Sierra there more than once doing her thing as a pregnant woman. Rock on!! She still greets with a smile!! I ALWAYS get the chicken cutlet milanese salad while my husband typically gets a pasta but this time he had soup. Barrels is known for their soups. Just call for their daily specials and you won't be disappointed!

We visited Barrels two nights in a row and left absolutely satisfied. Night 1 we split the entree Cesar salad (photo attached - HUGE) and the plain pizza. Both scratched the itch we had for a hearty meal. Tonight, we again split the entree Cesar Salad, but ordered our own entrees - he had the linguini and chicken and I had the chicken cutlet strips. We left stuffed and with plenty of leftovers. Our servers both nights could not have been sweeter and made sure we were taken care of. Barrels is also running a 10% off dine-in promotion for the winter season - we will be back soon!

Came across this place while driving through Margate. Ordered the Seafood Pescatore. They give you a massive amount of clams calamari, mussels and crabmeat on a small bed of linguine. More seafood than pasta. Definitely worth the $29 I paid for the dish. I had a side of chicken pastina soup. Soup was very good and the pastina was al dente which is very difficult to do. The service was fast and efficient and the restaurant itself was clean and so was the restroom.

Given its large Italian population, finding great Italian food in New Jersey is pretty easy. You've got lots of options to choose from, and Barrels is definitely among them. All the dishes are good, but the tomato sauce in particular is outstanding and among the best I've ever had anywhere.

Amazing evening at Barrels!! The chicken parm and cutlet were outstanding!!! Service was exceptional! We will definitely be back! Tim!!
